Measures levels of PFAS, often called “forever chemicals”. PFAS are found in nonstick cookware, water- or stain-resistant fabrics, food packaging, fire-fighting foam, and contaminated water. PFAS exposure is linked to effects on the liver, immune system, hormones, metabolism, and associated with increased risk of cancer and developmental delays.
Ideal for: Current or past use of nonstick cookware or water-resistant products; Possible exposure in work environments, including but not limited to firefighters, industrial workers, military personnel, and healthcare workers
May help explain: Exposure levels from food, water, environment, or consumer products
Next steps after results: Reducing exposure to PFAS in everyday products, filtering drinking water, adjusting food storage and cookware choices, detoxification methods
Suggested frequency: Annual, as exposure risk changes, or under clinical guidance
PFAS compounds included (10): MeFOSAA, PFHxS, Linear PFOA, Branched PFOA, PFDA, PFUnDA, Linear PFOS, Branched PFOS, PFNA, and the NASEM Recommended Summation Panel
